Born on this day – Andy Warhol (August 6, 1928 - February 22, 1987)

Andy Warhol - Artist, Director, Producer, and fellow Pittsburgh native and child of Austria-Hungary Carpatho-Rusyn immigrants was born on this day in 1928.

When he was alive, I wasn't the biggest fan...found his art too 'pop-y' for me.

I've come to appreciate his life and legacy through many visits to The Andy Warhol Museum when I'm home in Pittsburgh.

If you have a chance when you're in the 'Burgh - visit!

My favorite parts of the museum are his self-portraits, the Cloud Room, and his Archive boxes.
